Allan Scott, Marlborough, New Zealand                               35.00
Unique in taste and flavor, NOT as “grapefruity” as most. How?
The wine was fermented with natural, NOT “lab” yeast and then
25% barrel regiment was applied, resulting in a softer, warmer
mouth-feel and easy drinkability.  An outstanding, fresh Sauvignon!

Baileyna, Edna Valley, San Luis Obispo, Cal. 08'                                  45.00
Today, the vision of  founder Catherine Niven continues under the watchful eyes
of the second and third generations, along with Burgudian born and educated winemaker
Christian Roguenant. He makes wines that are true to the vineyard and varietal in the
old world tradition. Yet, he creates completely modern wines that go beyond the new world
standard. He acomplishes this with grapes that have been farmed in a sustainable manner
for over three decades. Baileyna combines the best of three worlds, old, new, and future and
produces estate Grand Firepeak Cuveês of concentrated flavors and balance acidity. A very
delicious Chardonnay indeed.

Miner Family Vineyards, Napa  09’                                               49.00
A decade after our Chardonnay put us on the map, the 2007 Napa Chardonnay remains
a tried-and-true classic and a testament to Gary Brookman's fine winemaking skills.
Malolactic fermentation inmoderation keeps this Chardonnay sleek on the palate with
remarkably fresh appley fruit and keenly placed acidity on the long, crisp finish.

DuMol, Russian River Valley  09’                                                69.00

turn out to be one of the best Chardonnays they have made under this

oak pushed well into the background. This is a beauty that should drink
nicely for 3-4 years.   WINE ADVOCATE  90-92 PTS.

Our belief is that wine should be delicious and representattive
of its appellation of origin. We make wines to drink- inviting
wines that we and our friends ( and by extension, our customers)
truly enjoy. The model for all of our wines is intensity without excess
weight, purity, persistence and lenght years.

Riesling, Dr. Fischer "Steinbock" Saar River, Germany 09'               36.00
Named after the old tale of the goat's(bock) fate that ate my grapes in the steep,
slaty vineyards of Ockfen. A crip and fruity, dry-style Riesling with pronounced
steely mineral flavor. This wine is specially selected from my Saar valley vineyards
to pair well with: seafood, poultry, veal, pork and salads.

Pisoni "Lucia", Santa Lucia Highlands 07'                                           58.00
This Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir can often be characterized by its concentration
and firmness; instead of the soft, rich almost sweet character sometimes found
North Coast pinots, this is more focused and muscular. Fruit aromas tend to
waffle (or better, blend) red and darker notes, and are often touched by a spice or bacony
quality and a touch of earth.

Benton Lane, Willamette Valley / Oregon 08/09'                                 43.00
This deep ruby colored Pinot Noir has impressive varietal aromas of bing cherries, red plums,
Hibiscus and wild mushrooms. The smooth, ripe tannins give a voluptuous texture to the
mixed berry and chocolate flavors of the wine. A hint of white pepper adds further complexity
to the lively and seamless finish.

Elk Cove, Willamatte Valley, Oregon 08/09'                                          47.00
Sweet black fruits lightly dusted with oak are found in the aromatics of the Estate Pinot Noir.
A delightful easygoing effort, it offers loads of red as well as black cherry fruit in its
medium-bodied character. Delicate notes of oak spices make their way to the fore in this
pretty wine's soft finish.

Lemelson, "Thea's Selection" Willamette Valley, Oregon, 08'     47.00

to be called Thea when she was young. She likes rich, satisfying Pinots, with lush fruit,
soft tannis, and enough "backbone to pair easily with fine cusine. Thea's is indeed a
"selection, a reserve-level blend that combines individual barrels from any or all of
our six vineyards.

 Cabernet Sauvignon & Blends

Tikal " Jubilo" Mendoza, Argentina 08' by Ernesto Catena          58.00

93 points Robert Parker': "The Jubilo is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Malbec
and was aged for 12 months in 30% new French oak prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Black in
color, it offers a nose of wood smoke, vanilla, leather, black currants and black cherry. Surprisingly light on
itsfeet, the flavors already offer complexity as well as an elegant personality. It nicely conceals enough
tannin to evolve for 5-7 years and should drink well through 2025. Tikal is owned by Ernesto Catena of the
renowned Argentine wine family.

Lurton Gran Araucano, Colchagua, Chile 06'                                   55.00

Owned by Francois Lurton from Bordeaux's largest chateau owner family.
Francois Lurton's style for Colchagua's Cabernet Sauvignon tends to accent the fresher, juicier side of the
grape; they also grow many of the grapes for this wine in Lolol, a cooler spot of the valley. Together, these
influences create a Cabernet full of red fruit aromas and flavors supported by powerful yet elegant, polished
tannins. A great match for veal. 91 points Wines & Spirits.

Counterpoint, Laurel Glen, Sonoma Mountains 07'                                 49.00

100 % Sonoma Mountain Estate grown fruit is used for this superb red.
Different vineyard locations allow Mr. Campbell, owner and wine maker, to create
an elegant blend of different micro climate influences. Excellent Cabernet fruit,
medium tannins, soft acidity and a rich mouth feel characterize this wine.
Chocolate, leather and vanilla nuances enhance the overall impression.
92 points Wine & Spirits.

Cartlidge & Browne, Paso Robles, California 09'                                             34.00

Aromas of ripe fig and plum, with inviting mocha & cedar. On the palate, it is densed
and full-bodied. Flavors of ripe blackberry, cassis and bittersweet chocolate are dominant
filled out by suggestions of of spice cake, anise and coffee. A great palate pleaser, 100% French Oak.

Marietta Cellars, Alexander Valley, Sonoma 09'                                                  43.00

This wine has a dark ruby, almost opaque color, a dense nose of black currants, cassis and intergrated
toasty oak, and overall aromas that are full and rich with definition to come with age. 3 years aging
in French oak barrels offer refined oak to an otherwise mouthful on the palate that is dominated by
classic cassis and currants and subtle earthy notes. This is a very big Cabernet
...An incredible value from the prestigeous Alexander Valley and a steal at this price - compare
to Silver Oak...

Ramsay , North Coast 07'                                                                                     38.00
The blend is almost entirely Cabernet Sauvignon, but with a couple of tiny lots of Merlot
and Cabernet Franc added. The resulting medium-bodied wine is redolent of perfectly Ripe,
mahogany-colored bing cherries. These aromas are echoed on the palate where dark fruits,
fine tannins and excellent acidity combine to form a complex but completely harmonious
 and well-balanced whole.

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap is one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons one
can buy at this price point, Particularly given the Shangri-La prices of Napa.
Deep ruby/purple with lots of red and black currants, the wine is medium-bodied with
nothing out of place - acidity, wood, tannin, or acohol. It is a supple, stylish wine that
doesn't cheat the consumer on flavor or complexity. 91 points Robert parker.

Ramspeck, Napa, Oakville, napa 08'                                                         40.00
A big, flacorful red; walks the line between old-world and new world styling.
Lots of nice flavors up front. Huge mature red fruits, green pepper and cassis.
The tannic structure is smooth and medium all the way through until the finish
where it finally shows it's youth just a bit.

Mercer, Columbia Valley, Washington                                                              45.00
This Merlot is deep purple in color, with a nose of baking spice and dark fruit.
This is a full-bodied, mouth filling wine with spicy dark black plum, blackberry jam,
black cherry and chocolate notes on the palate. The tannins bring structuture and
weight, working on the sidelines, holding back at the finale to let the wine finish
fruity and long.

looks set for 10-15 years of aging.

Challenged by the rocky volcanic soils of this mountainous vineyard site, the vines

Loaded with rich ripe fruit and spice notes with touches of toasty oak, our merlot has a nice
grip from fine tannins on the lenghty finish.

Tempranillo

Volver, La Mancha 06/07                                                                                       36.00
This red is lively and intense, with vivid berry fruit accented by smoke and mineral notes.

Deep red with purple fringe. The nose offers up a great array of aromas;
mocha, mulberry, walnutty oak, earht, vanilla and currants. In the mouth the

Really great fruit characters of mulberry and cherry with some cola, spice and

Ben Marco, Mendoza, Argentina 08'                                                            36.00
At this price, it is a steal. It contains 10% Bonarda. Dark ruby/purple-colored,
it exhibits a kinky perfume of black cherry, wild black raspberry, earth notes,
and leather. On the palate there is plenty of jammy fruit, bright acidity, excellent
balance, and a lengthy finish. While it may well evolve for 1-2 years, it can be
enjoyed now. It too is a great value.
91 points Robert Parker

Inky ruby. Sexy dark berry and cherry compote on the nose, with subtle
mocha and intense notes. Sweet blackberry and cherry-cola flavors
pick up some dusty tannins with air. Pleasantly juicy and fresh, with
clean finishing fruit and a late jolt of licorice. This became more floral
and minerally with air while maintaining its seductively fruity personality

Babcock Black label Cuvee 06'                                                                          38.00
Sweet oak, vanilla beans, black cherries and a bit of loamy earht rise
from the broad, deeply draughted aromas of this serious Syrah, and while
its acid-pushed tannins are a bit of an annoyance just now, its concentrated

Copain, Eaglepoint Ranch, Mendocino 06'                                                   52.00
This vineyard sits in the middle of nearly 3 square miles of upland and
timberland. The vineyard is broken up into 29 separate blocks and grows
6 different varieties of grapes. Probably the most important ingredient is
the soil. It is moderately fertile, decomposed sandstone, with the veins of
"timber red" loam as well as upland pasture soil types.

Landmark Steel  Plow 07'                                                                                      53.00
The wine ehibits a pronounced floral aroma along with chamois leather
and plum preserves. In the mouth the tannins are extremely supple with
enough acidity to lift the fruit profile and add consideration length to the
wine's finish. A conservative but appropriate alcohol of 13.7% keeps
everything in harmpnious balance

Grenache & Blends

Alto Moncayo, Campo de Borja, Aragon, Spain  07'                        68.00
Old Vine Grenache. Campo de Borja is located between Madrid
and Barcelona, south of Rioja and has been put on the wine
map by the master of Spanish Wines, Mr. Jorge Ordoñez.
The estate's mid-level effort is the fairly priced Alto Moncayo.
This wine is spectacular, and represents the perfect foil for
grilled steak, with riveting intensity and palate staining extract,
the Alto Moncayo is inky/purple, full-bodied, and rich.

Chateauneuf du Pape "Marquis" patrick Lesec  05'                               52.00
Majority Grenache, with 3% Syrah and a bit Mouvedre. Delicious,
full-bodied yet quite racy, with black fruit singing along. Warm at
mid-palate and plummy, showing blackberry, spice and mocha
character and supple tannins.

Zinfandel producer. They came from  Italy in 1895 and started
planting at the "Home Ranch" , which still produces California's
finest single Vineyard Zins. This Sonoma Appellation Zin is
stainless steel tank fermented and then aged in oak for 6 months
showing beautiful black berry fruit, lovely tannins and a very smooth
finish. Rated 15 years in a row "Best Buy" .

Za Zin - Lodi 125 year old Vine - from Laurel Glen, Patric Campbell   40.00
Bright ruby color with aromas of strawberry, rhubarb pie, bay leaf
and dried herbs. Flavors of blackberry, pomegranate, cinnamon and
hints of maple syrup lead to finely integrated tannins and lingering
cran-raspberry finish.

Sangiovese etc.

Chianti Classico Riserva, Felsina, Tuscany                                     47.00
Brilliant, rich ruby red. Spicy nose with floral notes and wild berry nuances.
Spice continues in the mouth, nicely complemented by a dense, soft fabric of
youthful tannins; excellent structure and superb overall character..

Altamura, Napa Valley 05'  (Cibao Recommendation)                      85.00
There are 1,200 cases of the dark ruby-colored 2005
Sangiovese. Aged in neutral old wood, it tastes like a
strawberry jam cocktail with lots of new saddle leather,
spice, and underbrush notes. Medium-bodied and richly
fruity with loads of character, it is a remarkable effort
given how difficult it has been for this grape to achieve
this level of quality in California.

Casanova di Neri, Rosso Sant'Antimo, Tuscany                                45.00
Beautiful cherry, earth/stone with a hint of sour red fruit...
almost a cranberry-type taste. Some floral qualities on the
palate. Nice bit of acidity on the finish.
A superb value from one of the very top Brunello di Montalcino estates.

and finally......

Amarone, Tenuta Sant'Antonio, Selezione Antonio Castagnedi    65.00
The usual suspects from Valpolicella: Corvina Rondinella and
Molinara grapes are used. Aged in large Slovenian oak casks
for one year. Bright red fruit, plums and tobacco notes. Not heavy
handed and well balanced with great tension.

The grape varieties composed of 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30%
Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Powerful and
concentrated, the wines from Patache d' Aux present a remarkable

Familia Zuccardi Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina 07'                                            75.00
This Malbec has a purple-black color and is bursting with black currant and
damson aromas. It is full-bodied with plenty of black cherry and chocolate notes
and a slightly peppery, vevelty finish. Familia Zucccardi is the largest privately
owned producer in Argentina.

Allende Estate Rioja, Spain  06'                                                                               98.00
The 2005 Allende is 100% Tempranillo barrel-fermented and aged for 14 months
in mostly new French oak. Purple-colored, it offers up an enticing bouquet crushed
stone, spice box, scorched earth and blackberry. Ripe, layered and complex, it has
gobs of spicy fruit, several years of aging potential, and a lengthy finish.

Andersons Conn Valley Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, Cal. 06'  160.00
The unfined, unfiltered 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve spends two
years in French oak and another year in the bottle before being released.
This cuvee has a long track record of aging (the 1990 and 1991 are still
going strong). The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2006 offers notes of new
saddle leather, black currants, autumnal vegetation/forrest floor, cassis,
and cherries, superb richness, and a full-bodied, powerful finish. Cellar it for
5-6 years, and drink it over the following 25 years.

Penner Ash Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, Oregon 08,                                      140.00
The Medium ruby red 2008 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley displays an
enticing nose of rose petal, intense, spicy box, black cherry, and black
raspberry. This leads to a medium-bodied wine with excellent grip,
spicy black fruit flavors, good volume, and excellent length. It has
the stuffing to evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now and over
the next 6-8 years.
